Mounting & Positioning for Access – Sydney

This workshop is suitable for Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Physiotherapists who prescribe assistive technology. Operation of assistive technology always requires a movement whether it be eyes, head, arms, hands or another body part. This workshop will focus on the importance of accurately selecting access and mounting solutions based on the individual’s functional movement needs.

Controlling your world through eye gaze – Adelaide

This is a hands-on workshop for therapists working with individuals who would require eye gaze access to communication, internet browsing, computer functions, social media and telecommunications. This workshop will provide opportunity for exploration, programming and comparison of eye gaze control for both Windows and iOS platforms through Tobii Dynavox’s TD Control, TD Browse, TD Phone, Communicator 5 and TD Co-Pilot software. Attendees will work through a series of activities to build confidence in using and programming the TD I-series and TD Pilot hardware.

Workshop: Technology & Positioning for Access – Perth

Seating and positioning play a significant role in an individual’s ability to move, stabilise and control their body. Operation of a communication device, phone or tablet always requires a movement whether it be eyes, head, arms, hands or any other body part. Different ways of accessing environmental controls, communication devices, mainstream tablets and phones will be discussed in this presentation and how positioning potentially impacts and influences a user’s movement. We will discuss the importance of understanding the functional movements an individual needs to access the other assistive and mainstream technologies to talk, play, work and recreate.

You will have HANDS ON opportunities to explore different access options and participate in a range of case studies to see how technology and positioning come together to support individual’s to access their world.

Mounting Made Easy – Perth

Seating and positioning play a significant role in an individual’s ability to use their chosen communication device and access method. This workshop will discuss the practical aspects of using mounts to position assistive technology including communication devices, eye gaze devices, switches, phones and tablets. The assessment process and principles of mounting will be explored with opportunities for HANDS ON practice attaching mounts to wheelchairs. The mount examples used will be from the Rehadapt Product range but principles and processes apply to all mounting.
